Breconshire Places of Worship

Churches and chapels are an integral part of our Breconshire landscape, representing a rich history and culture. They have been focal points for our communities, both past and present.

The Society would like to take an active role in promoting the heritage, conservation and community value of Breconshire’s churches and chapels at a time when places of worship are under threat from falling congregation numbers and financial constraints. Our aims are:

to advance appreciation of the history and cultural significance of places of worship in Breconshire, past and present

to support, in so far as it can, local groups seeking to enhance the recording, conservation and use of individual places of worship in Breconshire by signposting information and advice available elsewhere
