About Brycheiniog

Brycheiniog is the journal of the Brecknock Society and is published annually. It is taken by most major libraries and is highly regarded throughout Wales and beyond.

Articles reflect the activities of the Brecknock Society and the purpose of Brycheiniog is to act as a focus for the accumulation of knowledge and thought in relation to the archaeology, history, geology, natural history, arts and literature of the historic county of Brecknock.

The journal is aimed at an interested readership and those in academic and research disciplines. It is a print publication and not currently available for online subscription. Details of how to subscribe and purchase recent back copies are provided below. Older back issues can also be downloaded free of charge (see below for details).

The Editorial Committee comprises Dr Mike Alun Williams (Editor), Dr John Gibbs, Dr Elizabeth Siberry (Chair of Brecknock Society and Museum Friends), and Mr Nigel Clubb FSA (President of Brecknock Society and Museum Friends).

Brycheiniog acts as a focus for the accumulation of knowledge and thought in relation to the archaeology, history, geology, natural history, arts, and literature of the historic county of Brecknock.

The journal is open to submissions on all subjects listed above, from any time period, either contained within the historical county of Brecknock or directly relevant to the county. Authors need not live within the county and submissions from authors with no academic affiliation are welcome providing they adhere to the tone and standard of the journal.

Volume 55 (2024) is available to buy at all Brecknock Society and Museum Friends events or direct from the Editor at £12 plus £3 postage and packing. Please email the Editor of Brycheiniog, Dr Mike Williams, at editor@brecknocksociety.co.uk for details. Payment can be made by cheque or PayPal.

Subscribe

Subscriptions are available at £12.00 with free postage and packing if paid by standing order. There is a form available to download here.

Back Issues

Back issues for the previous three years are £10 each. All other volumes (where available) are £5.00. Postage will be charged at cost.
