Oral Archive Project
The Society has recorded about 125 voices over 10 years, mainly local people who have something to say about Breconshire. Recordings are in both Welsh and English.
We use a computer-friendly dictaphone to record in the first place, then transfer the recording to computer, edit where necessary, and make a CD for storage, and another as back-up.
We intend eventually to convert the tapes of interviews we made prior to this technology into CDs, and are in touch with the National Library of Wales concerning this project. The aim is to have a full set available for public use in the local studies room in y Gaer.
